About Me

I was born and raised in the small town of Abingdon in southwest Virginia, USA. Growing up, I was always fascinated by finding out how things work, the ever-changing nature of technology, and the visual arts. I found the perfect marriage of these interests in a field of study called Digital Media at East Tennessee State University. Digital Media is essentially the combination of computer software and creativity used to create media in various mediums: on the printed page, the web, using animation, and video. I chose to focus on the web and interactive range of the spectrum.

After I got my Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media in 2005, a friend and I started a small company that provided the same services I do now. After that, I worked at an award-winning interactive agency called n-tara interactive in Johnson City, TN. After augmenting my skillset and learning a lot there for over two years, I decided to go out on my own as a freelancing artist.

I find web development a very satisfying choice of career because it perfectly caters to my problem-solving nature, but when I’m not writing code or designing a web page, I enjoy a lot of different activities.  The outdoors, camping, hiking, biking, and fishing are always fun. I also enjoy photography and a wide variety of music.
