Photography/Art

Appalachian Treks
A great photoblog created by a local photographer named Mark Peacock. He’s posted tons of shots taken in the Tri Cities area.

Digital Photography Review
A great place to research digital cameras if you are in the market for one.

Chris Haga Portfolio
A friend and fellow Alumni of ETSU, Chris Haga is a talented animator and artist. Check out his eclectic style.

Hiking/Outdoors

Local Hikes
Awesome site for finding trails in your area.

Waterfalls of TN, NC, VA
A nice Google map my friend Steven made. Steven listed each waterfall named in this format: [Name] [Height in Feet]‘ ([County of Location]). You can get directions to each fall, and many are listed with a picture. Niice.

Caves within VA and TN
This one is formatted similarly to the waterfalls map above, but lists caves.

ACME Mapper
This is a great online map software that seems to use the same technology as Google Maps, only it has Topo maps as a viewing option. Great for finding waterfalls, caves, etc.

Geek

Blogna.org
A blog a guy I used to work with, Tim McLeod, started. Mostly about the web (especially Flash and Flex), software, and technology.

Jeffery Rainey Blog
Another cool guy I used to work with who also has a blog. Also focused on technology, especially CSS/XHTML/Javascript tricks and gadgets.

Local (Tri Cities, TN Area)

Marquee Magazine
This is a great local magazine, based in Johnson City. It features pretty good articles about local musicians, restaurant reviews, and other cool local stuff.
