    • Cross-browser friendly code using progressive enhancement

      I am passionate about conforming to the standards set forth by the W3C, the international organization that sets standards for the web. These standards are created to maximize cross browser and cross platform/device compatibility. I write clean, semantic, compliant code, and use progressive enhancement techniques to make websites function without JavaScript and/or CSS support. This means my websites will work on both your phone and your desktop PC. My websites are always tested in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. I also offer specific mobile phone support if you require it.

    • PHP web apps — both framework-based and from scratch

      There’s tons of excellent code out there that’s already written, free, and is supported by thousands of power users who are continuously finding new ways to improve it. Why pay for pricey software when you can use open source? In many cases, I have found that open source provides a better solution than expensive software solutions. Need something the open source community can’t provide? I can solve the problem! I love writing PHP myself, an extremely popular and free platform for writing web applications. PHP has been used for many huge websites such as Facebook.

    • WordPress / OpenCart integration

      Enjoy the power and flexibility of WordPress for content management and OpenCart for the online shopping cart. I specialize in integrating the two frameworks. You’ll end up with a WordPress theme used across your site and a completely separate install of both frameworks, that can be updated to their latest versions—for security and bug-fix reasons.

    • Search engine optimization (SEO)

      I work to maximize your rankings on search engines so that your customers find you much more easily. This includes writing semantic, search engine optimized code, and also making recommendations for how content should be written and structured if you want to update your website in the future.

    • Content management system (CMS) integration

      CMS systems allow you to maintain your site without being a web guru. A common package I use for a CMS solution is the popular blog and CMS software WordPress. CMS systems provide a word processor-like interface for editing content that requires little training to use.

    • Web maintenance

      If you don’t have time to keep your website up to date, why not let me do it? Most updates can be made within 24-48 hours.

      Flash elements add visual interest to your site and draw the user in so that more visitors stay on your site and read about what you have to offer them.
