About Me

I was born and raised in Abingdon, Virginia, USA. Growing up, I was always fascinated by how things work, the fast paced world of technology, and the visual arts. I found the perfect marriage of these interests in a field of study called Digital Media at East Tennessee State University.

Since 2006 I’ve worked with both large corporations and medium sized businesses and I’ve learned a lot along the way. After I got my bachelor’s degree in Digital Media with a concentration on user interfaces and the web, a friend and I started a small interactive agency. After that, I worked at an award-winning interactive agency called n-tara interactive. Working with high profile clients and tight deadlines, I sharpened my development skills there for a couple of years, but eventually decided to go out on my own as a freelancer. Most recently, I work as a front end web developer for Scripps Networks on high-traffic areas of their networks’ websites.

I find creating for the web satisfying because it is well suited to my problem-solving detail-oriented nature. I’m passionate about creating an amazing product that not only looks great but also is futureproof and maintainable. Some have taken notice of my work ethic. When I’m not writing code or designing for the web, I enjoy the outdoors. Camping, hiking, mountain biking, and fishing are always fun. I also enjoy photography and a variety of music.
